    Description: Wiley College is seeking an Assistant Director of Religious and Spiritual Life, The Assistant Director of Religious and Spiritual Life will provide administrative, programmatic and liturgical support to the Dean of Chapel and ensure the efficient and effective operation of Religious and Spiritual Life, including but not limited to: creating and preparing correspondence, bulletins, marketing materials, presentations; maintaining and using extensive mailing lists and preparing large-scale mailings; communicating events through social media; creating the programmatic calendar; and preaching. 

    Primary Responsibility:

    • Prepare and coordinate information and reports for internal purposes and meetings of the Dean of Chapel as well as perform special analysis and other projects as directed by the Dean.
    • Create, and keep the standard operating procedures of the Julius S. Scott, Sr. Chapel, its schedule, and usage for summer events and programs.
    • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories and evaluating new equipment and techniques in the chapel.
    • Interface with students, student-workers, and student leaders of religious life organizations in preparation for assignments programming, initiatives and events needs as well as scheduling pastoral care and counseling sessions.


    • Candidates must be hold an M.Div. or equivalent level of education.   
    • Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to interact with multiple divisions and/or units and a diverse student population; be proficient with various word processing and software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point; capable of appropriate follow up and follow through on assignments; and have demonstrated ability to plan, organize and accomplish goals.
